13 steps to become a layback spin professional

A layback spin is an upright spin where the skater leans “lays” back or to the side. There are different variations and features.

A common variation has the free leg lifted toward the back, typically in an attitude position, with the arms held above the body, or with a catch foot position (haircutter spin). A common, though very difficult, variation is the Biellmann spin.

And Here’s How to Do Layback Spin

1- First practice doing attitudes

Ensure the free leg makes a right angle from the hip.

2- Master the attitude spin.

Once more, ensure the free leg makes a right point from the hip.
